Hi, welcome to my blog!
My name is Shelby Cannon. I am 22 years old and living the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I am currently in college and pursuing a degree in communications with concentration in public relations and broadcasting, with a minor in business administration. I am very involved in my faith with God, and truly believe it is the most important thing for a person to hold. Faith gets your through everything, and its been amazing to see how God has answered prayers for me, worked through my entire life, and always held my hand through rough times.
A few years ago, my life threw a pretty big speed bump at me. A very unexpected, unplanned kinda speed bump. That speed bump is also the most incredible blessing that God could ever bless me with. I now am a mommy to a beautiful and precious baby boy. I can't explain why or how, but God choose me. I am extremely having to rely on trusting God and believe that there is such a greater plan for me that is far beyond my knowledge. He has already been working and answering prayers for me since this has happened, and providing me with things that I have prayed for. He never fails. I truly believe that there is such a greater plan too. I definitely believe that god doesn't throw these kind of situations at people unless he knows they can handle it. This was in the plan for me. All this has happened for a reason, Jeremiah 29:11. Hence, the title for my blog, which is embracing the unexpected.

It may take me a little longer to graduate, and it may take me more work than most people my age to accomplish the things I have always wanted and the dreams that I have to pursue. But a precious baby will not be slowing me down, if anything this has been an extreme motivation to do my best and accomplish the things I want in my life.
